There are a range of different hybrid cars with self-charging and plug-in versions. Used self-charging hybrid cars such as the Toyota Corolla feature a combustion engine, a small electric battery and an electric motor. They can then drive on combustion power or electric power alone or use both simultaneously. The battery is recharged by the engine and via regeneration when slowing down.
Whereas a used plug-in hybrid or PHEV features a much larger battery which can be charged by plugging the car in. This allows the car to drive much further on electric only power, so these models are often more efficient but can be more expensive.

Honda Jazz - Self-Charging Hybrid
The Honda Jazz is a self charging hybrid model which offers a spacious and practical interior with features such as rear sears which fold away to create plenty of storage space, a large central touchscreen and digital driver's display. It is designed to be as easy to drive as possible with large windows giving a good view out, parking sensors and reversing camera and an automatic gearbox which takes the strain out of driving.

The Kia Niro is a compact SUV available most commonly as a self charging hybrid which we feature here. It is also available more recently as a plug-in hybrid and fully electric model but these are more expensive.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is available with a choice of petrol or diesel plug-in hybrid engines. The diesel is designed for higher mileage drivers who can then use electric for shorter journeys or for driving in cities and towns. The diesel has over 800 miles range. The petrol option is for users who drive less than 10,000 miles a year.
Both models can drive around 20-30 miles on electric power alone and offer great performance.
